# Developer guide

> Set up the OpenStack CLI and the OpenStack SDK for Python, and make API requests to any service.

Every service works with the same tools. You sign in through [Identity](/identity), use
the standard `openstack` command line client and the OpenStack SDK, and send API requests with
the same token. Set the tools up once here. Each product's documentation then covers only what is
specific to it.
